1. Which pole-changing motors are available?
There are two variants here, the Dahlander motor and the motor with two separate windings.
The Dahlander motor is a two-speed motor that offers 1:2 switching (e.g. 2:4, 4:8 or 6:12 etc.). Only one winding is used, which enables two different circuits in the terminal box for the individual speeds. The two circuit types ∆/ΥΥ (delta / double star) and Υ/ΥΥ (star / double star) are common for a Dahlander circuit.
The electric motor with two separate windings offers the possibility of different speed ratios. Pole-changing motors with two separate windings are available, for example, in 4/6 pole, 6/8 pole, etc. ∆/∆ (delta/delta), Υ/Υ (star/star), ∆/Υ (delta/star) are used as switching types.
